De Kompanie refers to Eric, Daniella, their 4 children and six grandchildren, who together form a cozy family and love to welcome guests “in Kompanie” in their beautifully renovated farm where the hostess and host put their heart and soul into everything needed to pamper guests. The Kompanie thus refers on one hand to the group feeling but also to the sense of friendship that we want to strengthen through a fun offer of connecting activities and enjoyable moments.

Beautiful rural location with a view of the orchard that has been restored with high-stem trees from which we harvest delicious fresh and varied fruit to pamper our guests. From the organically designed garden, there is a view of an oasis of tranquility with a forest in the backyard. Nearby is the nature reserve Mombeekvallei, an unspoiled piece of nature from which beautiful walks depart to the surrounding villages.

Alken was crowned as gateway to Haspengouw and is also a base for visits to many beautiful cultural and natural attractions that Limburg has to offer. Close to the Kompanie, you will find access to an extensive walking and cycling route network that connects Alken with the fashion city of Hasselt, the fruit city of Sint-Truiden, the hilly and historic Borgloon, the oldest city in Belgium, Tongeren, and Bokrijk with its idyllic open-air museum, the arboretum, the beautiful playground, and the attraction of cycling through the water. Cycling through the trees, cycling through the heath, or cycling between the mining hills is experienced by many tourists as a highlight and is easily accessible thanks to our central location and the advantage of having our own station that connects Alken smoothly with the surrounding area.
